Pumpkin carving

Halloween is still weeks away, but Owen already carved his pumpkin, and he did so all by himself (scary to think of him with a knife, I know). He was so proud of himself that he wanted his picture taken outside with it and insisted on having the ratty, old skateboard in it too. Go figure! Posted by Picasa

Pierce and Spenser

Pierce and his pal Spenser pose after their last football game (yes, it was sunny). The boys both finished their season 3-1 and had a lot of fun. This was Owen's first year playing, and he enjoyed playing, even though it was never long enough for him. He always had a funny story to tell at the end of the game, like how he tackled some big guy (not), threw another over his shoulder (definately not), or sacked the quarterback (absolutely not). I think he has a little of his dad in him when it comes to telling stories :)

Owen and his buddy Mason

Of course Owen wouldn't cooperate, especially since one of the moms passed out Mountain Dew. Posted by Picasa

Crazy Owen

Owen thinks an action photo would be better for the blog. Posted by Picasa

What you lookin' at?

Close-up

Pierce really looks grown up in this photo. His hair was starting to get really long too, but fortunately, Mom got them haircuts this week, and he is back to a "clean cut" boy. Posted by Picasa

Kickoff time

Pierce (15) is still not as big as the 6th graders, but he grew about 4 inches this summer and is right at 5 feet tall. Look out Mom, only another year and he will be taller than you! Yikes! Posted by Picasa

Fired-up Fifth Grader

The boys started another school year with high hopes. Pierce said 5th grade would be fun because they get to be the leaders of elementary. Plus, he was looking forward to starting band and taking typing. He started playing the saxophone this year (really loud too) and is finding out that typing is hard work. Posted by Picasa

Thrilled Third Grader

Posted by Picasa Owen was eager to start school so he could be with his friends instead of Mom. He got the new teacher, and after the first day he was excited to go back (which scared Mom a little). However, she sends home lots of homework and gives frequent updates on his progress, so we are really pleased.
